I think I’m getting up too early.
I took this stunning shot of the lunar eclipse last night. I used a Nikon D300s and a AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/4G ED VR lens. Exposure: 45 sec at f/8; ISO 1500. I used a tripod, of course, and a remote release—essential for obtaining a shot like this. (Click on the image for a larger view.)
Alas, it’s too late for my Christmas card, but I’ll definitely use it next year.
In the meantime I made the shot my laptop’s desktop background, and I kind of liked the way it looked. (Thanks for the suggestion, Scott!)
