Beautiful day here in northern California. Good time for reading in the shade down by the lake.
I’m finishing up Chelsea Cain’s Heartsick, and looking forward to diving into some nonfiction—Erik Larson’s new book, In the Garden of Beasts. But apparently it reads like a novel so I guess that doesn’t count.

Although it’s not suitable for the beach, I’ll be dipping into The Original Copy: Photography of Sculpture, 1839 to Today. It’s a gorgeous book for coffee table surfing. It’s as good as a trip to The Museum of Modern Art (the publisher).
