I get asked this question a lot, although not usually via snail mail postmarked in 1932. The only reason I saved this is because the handwriting belongs to Paul Cézanne. (Trust me, it’s authentic.)

Since so many photographers today are shooting video with their DSLRs, choosing the right tripod becomes even more critical. If you think any sturdy tripod will suffice, you’re on shaky ground. I’ll explain why (and answer the artist’s question) next month on Zoom Street.

But I don’t want to leave you thinking this is all a shaggy blog story, so here’s a little visual hint…
