We were driving rather aimlessly through rural Crozet, Virginia where the rubber meets the unpaved road.
The sun was setting and a big, full Miami moon was waiting in the wings. Very mild for October.
Arrived unexpectedly at Crozet Pizza which is quite famous for their pies. The place was dark with a funky décor that reminded me of northern California—a flashback to Petaluma or Big Sur. A sign on the wall read “Hippies Use Side Door.” My kind of place.
And then came the pizza. I just happened to have my D90 and a speedlight handy and grabbed this shot before digging in. (Click on the image for a larger slice.)
Yessir, it was as good as it looks.
