Even when I’m lazy I’m working.
I keep a camera near my bed and will often pick it up and aim at objects in the room… the ceiling fan for instance. I’ll see how slow I can shoot hand-holding the camera in low light. I managed a fairly sharp shot at 1/8 while lying down. On my feet I consider 1/30 – 1/15 risky, and will crank up the ISO rather than shoot slower without a tripod. 1/125 is the safety zone, of course. but it doesn’t hurt to experiment.
It pays to practice… even without a subject.
