In my post on August 2 I raved about my favorite French magazine, PHOTO.
Nice color, eh?
The cover girl is Jayne Mansfield and you can bet your bucks the issue is a collector’s item.
Anyhow, that’s what passed for glam back then and it doesn’t make me nostalgic. The French photography mags of the same period had a bit more class. (Think: Bardot) That goes for the articles, too.
Speaking of things French… this rare edition of Paris de Nuit (1932) sold on Abe Books for the sweet sum of $3,872.
The book features 60 photographs by the master Brassaï.
