The move to San Rafael was bumpy, to say the least. Pouring rain in L,A. and an out-of-control pickup truck really put a damper on the drive. But there were a few bright spots north of Santa Barbara; namely, Ellen’s Danish Pancake House in Buellton, where I had a memorable breakfast on the morning of New Year’s Eve. The Danish sausage was worth the trip alone.
Later, the lights of San Francisco twinkled in a misty rain, and a rare Blue Moon appeared amid patches of fog. The next day in San Rafael, I was inspired via a cup of Red Rooster French Roast—a bold, kick-butt blend of Central American coffees.
The above was the only photo this trip, as I had both hands on the wheel, but I can promise you plenty of Bay Area shots in the coming year.
